Weekend

Ben was sure excited to put up the decorations on the tree.  He loves to sing and hum Christmas carols.
After putting up the tree, Sam wanted to go play a few arcade games at All Star Sports.
Sam is a really good air hockey player.  Uncle Kevin will need to play Sam while he's here
Mom had a music gig Saturday night, so the boys and I had some tickets to the Thunder game.  We had really good seats.

Sam's buddy Seth from school spent the night Friday evening.  Sam, Seth, and Doug went and played laser tag at Laser Quest.  It was 20 minutes of intense action.  We had a lot of fun.  Seth agreed not to shoot each other and that we would be a "team".  Let's just say that Doug had to start shooting Seth.
Seth and Sam had a Lego Hero Factory building contest.

Sam holding his stringed instrument that he made for his school project.  Each student had to create a musical instrument using recycled materials.  Sam made a one stringed instrument using a used apple juice jug.  The students showed them off during a Veterans Day parade at school.  Grandma Shaffer provided the red, white, and blue tissue paper.  The stick was a walking stick donated by Grandma and Grandma Keefer.

Sam's school had a fund raising night at Chuck E Cheese.  Sam is really quite good at air hockey winning two out of three games with his buddies Conner and Seth.  Ben is just rooting his brother on.

Sunday

Happy Birthday Bob!  Kristin made Bob a black forest cake.  This is one of her specialties!!

Ben had fun in the leaves today.

We walked over to the new Wal-Mart market today close to our house.  It was a beautiful day for a walk.  They had some face painting, cotton candy, an inflatable for the kids, and yes, only at our Wal-Mart a Mariachi band.

Sam's Field Trip

Sam had a field trip right before the weather turned cold.  It was at the Great Plains Nature Center/  There was an outdoor and indoor activity.  Miss Patty from center here is showing us some of the evergreen trees and how birds eat the seeds on the tree, leave their evidence and thus more trees grow.

Sam and his team are digging up fossils.  As you can see below, there are 4 quadrants in the box.  The piece of paper was divided in to 4 quadrants as well.  Sam here is drawing one of the fossils he found.

Did you know that grasshoppers lay their eggs in sidewalk cracks?  That one "cracked" me up.
