Doug signed me up to bring cookies to Sam's preschool Christmas program, so I decided to make the Candy Cane cookies that we made as kids. You have to sift the powdered sugar and sift the flour. Sam usually likes helping in the kitchen, so I gave him the sifter, and he never gave it back. He was very methodical, dipping the flour from the container into the sifter, sifting into a bowl, dumping the flour from the bowl back into the container, and repeat, and repeat, and repeat. I think Sam was doing this up until the time we had to stop so we could eat lunch before he went to preschool. So this year, don't bother with buying us any toys, just send us a bag of flour.
