Fun Sunday

At church, there is a boys club called "Warriors".  We have been meeting for a few months every couple of weeks.  We do different activities and always have some sort of devotion or teaching in the midst of having fun.  Today we ventured out to a friends house in Valley Center.  Literally in his backyard there is a dirt airstrip with several small hangars.  We toured the hangars and learned about the different planes.  The coolest plane was a replica of the Red Baron fit with machine guns and all.

We all went to Exploration Place today for the "Gingerbread Village".  Kristin probably gets the award for most creative.  Hers is on the very right.  They are all unique in their own special way.  We did eat some of the toppings.

Drive-In Theater

Saturday was a very mild day and Kristin read on Facebook about a friend's family going to the drive-in.  Sam really wanted to go, so we loaded up the car and headed to the movies.  Sam and Ben have never been to the drive-in before, so this was a first for them.  We watched "Free Bird" and "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2".  We had a blast, so next spring and summer I'm sure we will go again.  It was a little tight in the car, but we made it work.

It was beautiful today for the Veteran's Day Parade.  It was about 60 degrees and sunny.

Air Show

Today was a gorgeous day for the Wichita Flight Festival.  We really enjoyed watching all of the aerial acrobatics.  This bus had a jet engine in the back and was amazing to watch it's speed.  I think they said it could go about 350 miles per hour.

Powell Gardens

Kristin had a BSF seminar in Kansas City on Saturday morning until 2:00, so after that we had the rest of the day to goof off.  We went to Powell Gardens to check out the Lego exhibit.  It was quite impressive

This morning Sam decided that he wanted to build the Ride the Ducks boat that we rode last week in Branson. He wanted to post his creation on the blog.

Branson Vacation 2013

Sam and Ben looking over their loft in our cabin

Ben boarding the Titanic

This was the largest man ever drafted in to the US military.  He weighed 706 lbs at the time of his drafting and when he died, he weight a little under 1100 lbs.  This was one of the statues at Ripley's Believe It or Not museum.

The tallest man who ever lived.

Ben also got to drive the duck.  Thankfully, we had enough life jackets on board

No vacation is complete without a lot of time in the pool

Party Up!

Sam, Ben, Levi, and Conner at Sam's 10th birthday party.  The "theme" was Batman.

After supper, we participated in some Batman "agility" games

Kristin made the paper machete pinata and did an awesome job.  It took just about as long to break this as any other pinata
