Sam came home Tuesday super excited. They would be dissecting cow eyes in science class on Wednesday, and all parents were welcome to come. Sam insisted that we should be there.

| First step, poke tip of scissor right into the eyeball. The eye was quite thick, and this job was given to the nearest adult. Whose idea was it that parents should be there? Then continue to cut around until the pupil part was cut off. Thankfully the kids took over when it came to the cutting. (Sam, very kindly, let his partner do all the cutting. How very considerate!) |

| The lens. The instruction was to remove it, and then put it on a very small part of the newspaper. It works like a tiny magnifying glass. |

| While he said the whole thing was great, in reality, Sam did not get very close to any of it. For most of the time he was up out of his seat, standing several feet away from the eye. But he sure was thrilled that his parents came. I have a feeling there will continue to be more discussion about cow's eyes this evening. |
