Kansas Day at Kauffman Museum

Today we all went to Kauffman Museum in Newton where they had a Kansas Day celebration.  Here, Sam, Brooke, and Ben are standing in front of a log cabin

When we arrived, there was a large tipi set up with a fire going inside.  Felt pretty good.

We rode on a horse drawn carriage around the grounds

Monster Jam 2012

Hibernation Day

Every January at preschool the kids enjoy hibernation day.  Sam enjoyed this annual ritual as does Ben.  Ben was excited to use Sam's flashlight to seek out the bear when they went on a bear hunt.  You'd think a bear would be in the kitchen eating honey.  Maybe he was in the sanctuary "bearing" his sins.

Ben enjoying a sucker.

Just a Saturday

Today, it was build a bank day at the Home Depot.  Money was not included.

Sam putting the finishing touches on his bank

Every year at the Coliseum Pavilions there is an antique tractor pull.  I guess this is what farmers do in the winter time.  Sam was ready to go after about 15 minutes.  The tractors pull this long weight on wheels and whoever pulls in the farthest wins.

hey let's go bowling

We hit the lanes today.  Everyone did really well.  After bowling, we realized that dad locked his keys in the car and had to call grandpa to come pick everyone up and take us home.

Ben pooped out after about five lanes

Sam's buddy Rex came over and played Wii for a while

Happy birthday Ben!! Oh, and Kristin too!

Ben had quite the birthday.  It's like he had three birthdays.  We celebrated on the 27th, 28th, and 29th

We have a tradition of going to Texas Road House on each others birthdays.  Kristin did not get on the saddle and say, "Yeeeeeeeeeehaaaaaaaaaaa!"

Exploration Place

We ended our day today with a visit to EP.  They have some work shops going on this week.  This one involved liquid nitrogen.  The teacher froze marshmallows, a balloon, two tennis balls, and an apple.  It was pretty cool (no pun intended)
Wow, this mirror is scary.  I look 350 pounds
I like this picture.  Only if we were to live our lives a little more "slowly".

Nice Day for the Zoo

Ben is so sweet Edward the giraffe had to taste him

Christmas Day

Sam proudly displaying his new Lego Creationary game.  We actually like this game because it is easy to play.  You select a card and try and make the item and have the others guess what it is.

Ben was very excited when he found out that Santa brought him the Lego Ninjao spinner that he had asked for

Ben cleaned up pretty well on Legos this year

Christmas at the Keefers

Sam always reads the Christmas Story before opening gifts.  It's an annual tradition.  Maybe next year, Ben can read the story.
