A Busy Beautiful Day!

Today was beautiful outside.  Sam wanted to play some miniature golf at Exploration Place and we also wanted to go on a bike ride, so Kristin had a great idea to load up the bikes and bike from Exploration place to downtown and back.

We knew there was a war memorial downtown, but we didn't know it was so large and encompassed World War II, Vietnam, and Korea.  This torpedo, an MK-14 was instrumental during World War II.  The tail of the torpedo says "1945".

We thought Uncle Kevin would like this picture with downtown Wichita in the background.

We were disappointed with the water fountains that the city spent so much money on.  As Sam would say, "It's lame!"

We had a few minutes to cast our line in the Little Arkansas River across the street from our house.  It was exactly a few minutes as the river was up, the current was strong, and the trees ate our line.  No fish!

Twin River Campout

The boys and I camped out last night at our swim club.  Enjoyed the short trip, about 1/2 mile.  I don't think the giggle, yells, and talking settled down until 2:00 AM

Wood stacking game to see who could get the tallest pile.

River Fest Paddling

Free paddle boat night at the River Fest. Perfect night with little wind.

Ben enjoyed steering the boat that seemed to just "go" in circles.
