The next Tiger Woods?

We played miniature golf at Exploration a couple of weeks ago, and had a lot of fun. Sam really liked his golf ball that looked like an eyeball.

We tried to explain the correct way to hit the golf ball. Sam definitely understood the keep your feet together, but continued to use the club as if it were a croquet mallet. Needless to say, we didn't keep score. AT the end Sam says "I won, ding ding, ding."

Summer Fun

Sam and Dad attended the Kids Fishing Clinic (for the 3rd year) and they guaranteed that each child would catch a fish. Sam listened carefully to all of the instructions they gave. After the kids catch their fish, they take a Polaroid picture of the kids with their catch. That picture is on our refrigerator with the pictures from the past years. Sam caught a small greenish fish, a that Sam reported "was all bloody". Good thing this was a male bonding experience, and mom didn't have to see it.
A classic Ben smile. When he is happy, he is very happy, when he is not happy, he is very not happy.
Sam trying out the new driving video game that dad negotiated the price down to about $5.00 at Kohl's. It was originally $50.00 and on clearance for $9.95

Sam started swim lessons again this year at the Swim club we belong to, Twin River Swim Club. Here Sam is waiting his turn to do his "exit skills" which once they successfully performed, they could "exit" that level and move up to the next level. The kids had to jump in, get to the teacher, float on their back for 5 seconds, then flip over and float on the stomach for 5 seconds, then swim back to the wall. Sam is still working on some of his skills. He begins the second session on June 30th.

You've won a new consolation prize!

Kristin registered to win a new mustang through a Fox News giveaway. Some good friends called us at home and told us that they saw our names on the news. Kristin called in and we were eligible to win a new car. When we arrived at Mel Hambelton Ford there were only ten other people with keys, so our chances of winning were good. However, Kristin did not select the right key. We did win some nice consolation prizes including some shirts, hats, and a $50.00 gift certificate to a restaurant. At least we don't have to pay taxes and higher insurance.

Salina Get Away

June 6th we headed up to Salina, KS. We spent the night at the Fairfield Inn and then the next day at the Rolling Hills Zoo. We had to dodge some storms before heading up there, but made it safely. Friday was a beautiful day and we had a great time.
